Embark on a city tour in the morning, starting with a visit to the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office, and the Reunification Palace. Next, explore the War Remnants Museum, a remarkable site that offers insights into the Vietnam War.
In the afternoon, head 60km from HCMC to Cu Chi Tunnels, a popular spot for both Vietnamese and foreign tourists. The network of over 200km of tunnels played a vital role in the War and became legendary. In their heyday, the tunnels were functioning underground cities that included numerous trap doors, living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers, and kitchens. Despite now being home to ducks and water buffalos, the peaceful rural rice paddy scenery belies the violent history of the area. Visitors will find it difficult to imagine the destruction, damage, and defoliation caused by bombing and mines during the 1960s when Cu Chi was a "Free Target Zone."
Our tour will start with a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed before entering the tunnels and spending the next hour exploring them. Afterward, enjoy tea and cassava, which were common guerrilla foods during the war. We'll then return to Ho Chi Minh City, arriving at your hotel around 18:30.

Begin your day with breakfast before embarking on a full-day excursion to discover the ancient city of Angkor Thom and its temples. Our first stop is Angkor Thom, also known as the Great City. We'll visit the Southern Gate and the famous Bayon Temple, which features 216 smiling faces of Avalokitesvara across 54 gothic towers. Next, we'll see the pyramidal Baphuon Temple and the Terrace of Elephants, used for public ceremonies and as a base for the king's grand audience hall. Lastly, we'll explore the charming Ta Prohm temple, known for its intertwining roots and moss-covered walls.
We'll have a Khmer-style lunch in a local restaurant near Sras Srang, the Royal Pool of Ablutions. Afterward, you can relax and rejuvenate by enjoying a spread of delicious local food or exploring the traditional way of life and greeting the friendly locals.
In the afternoon, we'll visit the world-famous Angkor Wat Temples, one of the seven greatest architectural wonders of the world. Originally built as a temple and mausoleum for King Suryavarman II at the peak of the Khmer empire in the first half of the 12th century, Angkor Wat is probably the best-preserved of the Angkorean temples. The central monument represents the mythical Mount Meru, home to the Hindu God Vishnu. The whole complex covers 81 hectares, surrounded by a rectangular wall measuring 1025 meters by 800 meters bordered by the inner edge of the moat. The temple's greatest sculptural treasure is its 2 km-long bas-reliefs around the walls.
In the late afternoon, we'll visit Phnom Bakheng Temple, the first temple in the Angkor region built by King Yacovarman I in the 9th century. Located on a gentle hill slope, we'll catch a memorable view of the stunning sunset and distant Angkor Wat in the jungle. In the evening, we'll enjoy a buffet local dinner with a Cambodian cultural performance, including an Apsara Show.

After having breakfast, we'll continue our journey by car for two hours to the northeast, where we'll reach our first stop at the 10th-century capital of Koh Ker. Although there are over 200 temples within the ancient city's boundaries, only 96 have been discovered so far, and most of our morning will be spent exploring just one: Prasat Thom. This temple is partially buried, and there are low visitor numbers, which means you may have the site to yourself. At the far end of Prasat Thom lies a towering pyramid that may remind visitors of Mayan or Inca architecture.
After exploring more of the surrounding temples, we'll head back in the direction of Siem Reap, stopping to visit another lesser-known temple called Beng Mealea. This temple is similar in size to the better-known Angkor Wat, as they were both built by Suryavarman II. However, Beng Mealea is completely engulfed by jungle vegetation and has undergone minimal restoration work. It's easy to imagine what it must have been like for early explorers discovering this temple for the first time.
We'll return to Siem Reap in the late afternoon, completing our day trip.

Then, we'll drive to Pouk district, approximately 15 km west of Siem Reap town, where we'll visit a silk farm/workshop. Here, you can witness the entire silk creation process, including growing the food for the silk worms, breeding the worms, silk extraction and refinement, traditional kit dying pattern creation, looming, and more. A retail silk and souvenir shop is also available.
On our way back, we'll stop to visit the Western Baray (Baray Occidental), measuring 8 km by 2.3 km, which provided water for the intensive cultivation of lands around Angkor.
